I know. I know. I need to finish up my other models. Well, I'm getting very close. I just felt like practicing a bit tonight on something else. Sometimes I do much better on art pieces that are spur of the moment. I sort of fall into a very relaxed state and then off I go. Here's what I came up with. It's nothing super awesome, but it came easy and it was fun. Stress free!
I played Assassins Creed all this past week. I got so consumed by the game, I didn't do any sketches for the whole week. Now that I've completed the game, I sort of got inspired to do a sketch painting tonight in photo shop. I decided to experiment with very rich colors just to build confidence with using these types of colors. I had earlier attempts in the past, but failed miserably. This one actually made me feel like I'm progressing, although I'm sure I won't like it after a couple of days. ;) See what you all may think.
This is a base hero model that I've made. I can pretty much use this guy as a template for a variety of heroic type characters. It's amazing how powerful zbrush and mudbox is for quickly manipulating models.
The character is some kind of demon wraith from a comic book I worked on along time ago. I like this guy because of his simplicity, especially if I were to build and animate him in 3D. I decided to color him this morning cuz I'm doing some painting practice in photoshop.
It's another Zbrush model. I've been meaning to post this stuff for awhile, but for some reason tonight, I actually felt like posting stuff online. Go figure. Anyway, I decided to model a female just for mere practice. I really didn't have any specific idea in mind, as far as what kind of character she would be, but just as long as she looks cool. Sorry. I'll just plan it out as I go. Other than some tweaks here and there, I'll be detailing out the outfit with some custom brushes I've made.
I ended up taking this quick concept piece and turning it into a Zbrush model. Its still work in progress. I've been working on it here and there when I have some extra time. I felt he should wield some kind of cool weapon, so I decided to give him double bladed weapons. I'll give them a few notches and stuff to show some battle history. I'll add some some more posts shortly to show my progress of the model.
I spent a couple nights concepting up a dark character with a skull face just for the fun of it. It's not too often that I get to explore the darker side of fantasy. I also got to mess around with some custom brushes that I made in photoshop.
Hello. I'm a videogame artist living just north of Seattle, Wa. I'm using this blog to post art that I produce outside the common art I do at work. I get a couple of hours here and there usually late at night or at least after the family is asleep, so please feel free to comment on my work. I'll be posting stuff as I go, some will be work in progress and some will be final, but comments are always welcomed. Thanx.
